Physical Over Digital Invitations

Physical Over Digital Invitations

Paula McGarry

Picture this. You've had a long day at work, you're on they way home with heavy shopping in your hand and it's just started to spit raining - all you want to do is get inside that front door. What really cheers you up is when picking up the pile of post from the floor, you spot a comforting hand written luxury envelope amongst the bills. This is the shimmery feeling your wedding guests will have when you choose to send a printed save the date, invitation or thank you card over a digital version by email. We all love receiving letters and cards in the post from family and friends. There's something your guests will savour from feeling and touching that quality card in their hands. It's something they can display on the kitchen sink, window sill or the mantel piece, not only looking at it once but picking it up a few times to ponder over all of your day's details.

The value of a printed card over a digital file is the physical and emotional connection the design brings. Research has shown that direct mail receives twice the response rate to digital copies. Digital means, however well designed cannot replicate the unique characters of paper and card, especially in Lilac & White's case where we only use quality luxury paper and cards. In an ever increasing digital world, printed artwork is becoming more valuable and special to the receiver.
